With no advance notice, we brought the goats home to no fences or milking stand, but we had a lot of inexperience that easily explained what happened next.
So first up was milking the goats. Never fear - I googled it. Armed with a wealth of book knowledge, it soon became apparent that I needed the chapter on how to get your goat to stand still. We improvised - I (VERY) nicely asked my husband to SING to them. He never blinked. The goats and I loved it, but Jay didn't feel that singing to goats was his life calling and he very quickly built me a milking stancion.
TAKE MY PICTURE, MOM!
Then there was Sara who would not leave Jay alone while he talked on the phone. She would whisper sweet nothings and generally torture him to the point that he couldn't handle a simple phone call. I stepped in and told DH, "Jay, she just wants her picture taken with you."
As Jay played it up for the camera, Sara immediately turned toward the camera and SMILED. As soon, as I took the picture she wandered off and left Jay alone. Why not, she got her picture taken just like she wanted!
Hope you enjoyed the stories, there are always more! Come visit again to hear more goat escapes. Penny
